In town from a land down under
When I reached out to Australian professional basketball player, Mitchell Creek, through Instagram, I was surprised to hear back from him and that he was so willing to let me set up a quick portrait shoot with him. He was only going to be in town for a few days — participating in expedition games and training camps with the Utah Jazz — but was more than willing to make the time.
I picked up Mitchell from his hotel, found a vacant building near by, and threw up some white seamless paper — my go-to for any last minute shoot. I pulled a mix of black tops for contrast and to keep the looks cohesive and the images clean.
Once I got the shots I wanted against white, there was an alley around the corner from where we were shooting which Mitchell allowed me catch a few more shots there before I drove him back to his hotel. He was generous with his time and incredibly easy to work with.
