Action Jackson
Photographed over the course of two days, I had the pleasure of taking these images for decathlete Jackson Walker, as he prepared to tryout for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games. Of course, plans have changed since then.
This was my fourth time working with Jackson so we had already established a familiarity with each other and shorthand. He knew what I wanted, before I could give a direction, and I knew what his suggestion would be, before he could say it out loud. I’m sure any outside viewer would have witnessed less vocal communication and more nods, unintelligible sounds, and pointing fingers. And, of course, my rapid fire “yes,yes,yes” when I liked what I saw or heard.
It was a fun couple of days.
