When I arrived at the Liljenquist home to photograph their kids for some portfolio work, my only objective was to keep it playful and chill and allow the kids to take the lead. Let them wear what they wanted to wear and if they had any ideas or suggestions, go with it. Luckily, they warmed up quickly (along with a visiting cousin) and became engaged in the process — offering ideas from matching outfits to Lego sets, musical instruments to water balloons. It was a lot of fun and it didn’t hurt that their parents were willing to play too.
