Let’s hear it for the boys … and mom
When the Dayton’s contacted me to take their family pictures, they made it clear that they wanted to give me full creative license and that they were open to anything I thought would be best for their family. That was all I needed to hear.
Lemon fresh
I visited the Dayton’s home a couple days before our session, to scope out their property as well as go through their closets and pick out what they should wear. Anytime I’m asked to do this, it feels like I’ve bit off more than I can chew but things fall into place eventually. The lemon print dress was in, as soon as I spotted it.
Novel idea
Pulling wardrobe from each of the boys' closets also allowed me to get to know their interests better and figure out how I could incorporate them into their pictures. One son was into sharks, another into biking. When I discovered that they each had been gifted a pair of novelty pajamas for Christmas, I knew I had to include those somehow.
