A couple of sleuths

Seeing double

I recently found these images from a test shoot for a personal project I had started but never finished.

I had hopes of creating a series of images — in the spirit of a Hardy Boys book and featuring “twin brothers” (one model turned into two) — that would feel like the beginnings of a mystery novel. Leaving the story up to the viewer’s imagination.

To create the perfect set of identical twin brothers, I wanted to try that duplicate-one-person-digitally-in-post-to-make-two trick — which I thought I pulled off well enough. The overcast day was key.

I was pleased enough with the results from this shoot that I planned to shoot a few other “stories” with Kevin, the model. But, unfortunately, we never got them shot before Kevin had to move away for school. I tried to find someone else who had the look I was going for — and would fit the wardrobe — but I never could. So, I put the idea on the back burner and never returned to it — though, finding these images has certainly revived the idea.
