Skyler & Mckenzie - In full bloom

Everything's coming up roses

All I knew was that I wanted to use a women's silver sequin top and add painted paper roses to it. I liked the thought of that look. So, I was on the hunt for a female model I could do a sequin inspired shoot with. But after finding Skyler and Mckenzie, via Instagram, the idea blossomed (pun intended) into a whole rose covered shoot instead.

I reached out to the newlyweds and once they were on board, I hit up a few favorite local second-hand shops and craft stores to pull together the looks.

One (wo)man's trash is another man's treasure

Who knows who donated the top I found for Mckenzie to wear but I have a feeling it came from some sexy lab technician costume (is that a thing?) -- sheer with crisp lapels and two buttons in the front. Not a problem though, all I wanted were the sleeves -- which I glued ribbon roses to.

Two close for comfort

I wanted to keep all the shots tight and have them really close to each other. We used a studio space that didn't allow for a lot of room to move so it worked out.

These two were naturals in front of the camera and really easy to work with. I love a good Instagram find!
