Peak style

I was packing for a trip to Portland, Oregon when this concept came to mind. Originally, for this test shoot with model Jean Mpalomby, I was just going to keep it clean and classic and try different light set-ups. But, once I started laying clothes out for the trip, a thought was sparked and the ideas came rapidly — aspirational-mountain-exploring-style, pops of red, layers, photographed like a lookbook, rocky looking backdrop. I don’t think I’ve pulled together a concept as fast, and last minute, as this one.

Jean suited the look well.

Oh, and in case you were wondering — besides the flannels and shoes — I wore none of this to Oregon.
