Call him by his name

I thought the Footlocker employee at the mall kinda looked like actor Timothée Chalamet. Luckily, said Footlocker employee, Cayler, was down to help bring an idea to life.

The Idea

I wanted to try to recreate — or at least pay homage to — the images photographer Karim Sadli shot of Timothée for L'uomo Vogue Magazine in 2019. I thought it would be an easy look to pull off — black and white images, public park, and classic styling are all in my wheel house. Plus, I liked the idea of trading the vertical stripes of the Footlocker uniform for horizontal.

Cayler, who hadn’t had much experience in front of the camera, warned me of such but I assured him that as long as he was willing, I could work with that. And willing he was! And super chill to work with too.
