Having a Grand Old Time

While on a road trip out to Denver from Utah, I stopped in Grand Junction, Colorado, to meet up with and photograph boyfriend and girlfriend John and Nikala. I had found them through Instagram, thought they would be fun to shoot, and reached out. I was stoked that they were willing to shoot and grateful for their kindness, time, and patience. I had the best time working with them.

Rain and Shine

We hadn’t been shooting for very long when storm clouds moved in and it began to rain. Like, really rain. Of course we made the best of it — because you can’t beat kissing in the rain shots — but, with John being a motocross athlete, I was really hoping to get some shots of them with his bikes and gear; and as we waited for the storm to pass, I had a feeling I was going to have to let that idea go. Luckily, though, they happen to be free the next morning and we were able to meet up again and carry on — bike shots and all.
